A native of Abiakana, Urua Inyang in Ika Local Government Area, Nwoko attended St. Augustine Secondary School, Urua Inyang, from 1977-82 before proceeding to the University of Calabar, where he obtained his LL.B in 1991 and his B.L in 1992 at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos
Barr. Nwoko did his National Youth Service programme in Lagos and thereafter in 1998, he went back to the classroom for his Master’s degree in law ( LL.M Degree) at the Lagos State University.
Before joining the service of Akwa Ibom State government, the Commissioner had been in private legal practice since 1992 and deeply involved in building our democracy through landmark election petition and constitutional law cases.
Barr. Nwoko is an Attorney General with a robust background in rights activism. He enjoys populist recognition among the masses, particularly among the underprivileged where he had on several occasions chose to be their voice.
Apart from advocacy, Nwoko had stamped his authority in political litigation.
For instance, during the 2011 general elections in the State, he successfully defended the PDP and its candidates out of the election petition tribunal, the Appeal and Supreme Courts.
He was also in the defense team for the PDP and Governor Udom Emmanuel after the 2015 general elections in the state up to the Supreme Court, where he brought his technical and intellectual prowess to bear in those cases.
His painstaking efforts at research and documentation helped to puncture the bundles of perceived evidence brought by the opposition to the tribunal.
Nwoko, is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), former member, Body of Benchers; member, Council of Legal Education in Nigeria and member, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) of Council of Legal Education.
Help me celebrate and wish this legal icon a happy birthday celebration.
