...Charged Ekpotai To Consolidate...
The Eket senatorial District coordinator of Akwa Ibom state Councillors forum, Hon Mkpong Isangedighi; in ahead of 2019 reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel mobilized all the (43) Councillors and (43) ward chairmen in the four LGA of Eket Federal constituency in a courtesy / familiarity visit to MP. Ekpotai at her constituency office in Eket.
Hon. Mkpong in his speech stated that the purpose of the visit is anchored on drumming grassroot support for his Excellency Deacon Udom Emmanuel and all the PDP candidates in the 2019 general elections.
Hon mkpong Isangedighi; Councillor representing ward (7) in Esit Eket noted that the forum has resolved to build synergy with the Party Ward Chairmen in order to deliver the grassroots 100% for PDP. The forum also urged the house of Reps member to arise above her present report card in the lower chamber to consolidate on the mandate the people willingly gave her.
Hon. Mkpong appealed for a formidable political synergy between the federal house member and the forum stressing that the Councillors and Ward chairmen should be integrated into any Empowerment Schemes and programs to be executed by the the lawmaker.
The forum however commended the state Governor's proficiency and impeccable charisma in the course of developing the state to suit global standard despite low economy.
The state party Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo; the PDP senatorial stakeholders in Eket, Commissioner for Local government Mr Udo Ekpenyong and the SA to governor on Political Mr. Ekong Sampson were amongst those commended by the forum on their respective roles in the recently local council elections which was free, peaceful and fair. The forum members unanimously adopted Mr. Udom Emmanuel for a second term of office pledging their unflinching loyalty to Governor Udom Emmanuel lead administration.
In her response Hon Mrs Ekpotai thanked Hon Isangedighi for his hard work and visionary drive towards bringing the party together to deliver a unified goal. she charged the group to go all out to mobilize support for the state governor come 2019. Talking from experience as a former state treasurer of the Party and former Executive Chairman of Council she advised both the legislators and Party faithful to be loyal to the Leadership at all levels in order not to hit up the polity and thereby promoting sustainable development in the constituency and Akwa Ibom State at large.
Others who spoke in the occasion were Chair of Chair Ibeno LGA Mr Efanga, Leader Onna Legislative Council Hon Isaac, House Leader Esit Eket legislative Council Hon Colings Jimmy and Hon Lady Emem Wilson from Eket legislative Council.
High point of the event the presentation of Christmas gifts by the house of representative member Hon Mrs Ekpotai to the entire 43 councillors and Ward Chairmen in the four LGAs of the federal constituency.
