HON.(ENGR.) MKPONG ISANGEDIGHE SETS ANOTHER PACE FOR THE TRAINING OF ESIT EKET YOUTHS IN VARIOUS OIL & GAS SKILLS:

The Councillor, representing ward 7 in Esit Eket Legislative Council and the Chairman, house Committee on Education, Youths and Sports, Hon.(Engr.) Mkpong Isangedighe, has set another pace for the training of Esit Eket youths on various oil and gas skills. The training workshop, which was flagged off at the Esit Eket Local Government Council Hall on Tue. 9th Jan., 2018, had in attendance, the Vice Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Council, Hon. Samuel Itama, who represented the Chairman of the Council, the Council's Secretary, Comrade Felix Udo (JP), the Leader, Esit Eket Legislative Council, Hon. Dan Akpe, all Councillors, Leaders of Youths' groups including Youth Council, Youth Caucus, Dakkada Youths, PDP Youth Leaders, Christian Youths, Village Youth Leaders and youths drawn from all the 10 wards of the Local Government Area.  

Earlier in his opening speech, Hon.(Engr.) Mkpong Isangedighe explained that he was moved by the passion he has for Esit Eket youths of which more than 75% are unemployed while others are unemployable because they lack the basic prerequisites needed to work, which has caused some of them to keep indulging in crimes and vices which are inimical to their growth, prosperity and progress. Hon. Mkpong Isangedighe stressed that at the end of the training the youths shall be well equipped to fit into all areas of employment in the oil and gas industries since the local government is the hub of oil and gas activities, explaining that, the training is also opened to  graduate youths, as this will help add value to their credentials. 

The sensitization training campaign, with the theme: 2018/2019 PROFESSIONAL CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR THE INDIGENES OF ESIT EKET LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, is tagged: "DEVELOPMENT AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE YOUTHS FOR THE DERIVATION OF INDUSTRIALIZATION BENEFITS & SELF-RELIANCE "

The training is powered and coordinated by a reputable and an internationally based Oil & Gas Training and Research Centre, known and called:- MULTISPECTRUM OIL AND GAS TRAINING AND SAFETY RESEARCH ACADEMY. 

Speaking at the occasion, the proprietor of the Training Academy, Engnr. Preferred John, who came with other members of his team, told the youths the importance of taking the training seriously. He explained that the training centre is an internationally accredited training academy and has the capacity of offering training, which is in line with global best practice and in tandem with the requirements of the contemporary times in the Oil and Gas industries. Engr. Preferred John urged the youths to key into the vision and make judicious use of the opportunity in their own interest.

Engr. Mkpong Isangedighi thanked the Executive Chairman of Esit Eket LGC, Hon.(Engnr.) Iniobong Robson Nnamso, the member, representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Dr.) Usoro Akpanuso and the Political Leader, Elder Benjamin Udobia for their support and for providing the enabling environment for the programme to thrive. He sued for support for the administration of His Excellency, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State and his re-election bid in 2019. He explained that the training is free and shall be done in batches while calling on other multinationals operating in the local government area to support the training program in other to accommodate more youths. Others who spoke in the event were the secretary of Council, the Leader EsitEket legislative Council, Youth Leaders from the three geopolitical zones that make up the local government area.
