It is no more news that the MD of one of the interventionist agencies in Nigeria, NDDC last weekend received an Award of Excellence from the Sun Newspaper.
However, what baffles is the credibility of the organizers of such award, the Sun Newspaper.
It is a known fact that the Sun Newspaper is owned by Abia State former Governor who can not point out one thing he did as a Governor in Abia State throughout his 8years of reign.
Worst is that Orji Uzor Kalu sometimes ago was arrested by the Nigeria's anti graft Agency in connection with 5.6bn embezzled during his tenure as the Governor of Abia State. Instead of clearing himself of the corruption charges, he quickly ran to the ruling APC led Government whose anti graft is chasing him.
Be it as it may, this is happening in a time when the President is preaching "Corruption Fight", and the man charged with corruption is busy giving Awards, and our Brother Nsima Ekere is given an "EXCELLENT AWARD" by the Corruption charged Orji Uzor Kalu. It's worrisome if you ask me.
In another development, just this weekend, another failed politician ObongEmem Ekperikpe Ekpo who have consistently failed in his bid to get re-elected into the National Assembly led another set of failed politicians in the State to go and endorse Nsima Ekere for Governorship election come 2019.
My brother, when an association of failures endorses you for success, how do you call that? Because success begats Success and failure begats failure.
Worthy of note is the fact that they requested that Nsima Ekere steps into the insecurity challenges rocking Etim Ekpo, Ukanafun and Oruk Anam. But I guess they would have rather appealed to Obong Emmanuel Ukoette who is the House of Reps member of the challenged Federal Constituency who is now in the APC.
Since the Insecurity issues started, the Member Representing Ukanafun /Oruk Anam Federal Constituency Obong Emmanuel Ukoette has not said anything about it, he has not even bothered to raise it up at the floor of the National Assembly, unlike his counterpart Rt Hon Emmanuel Ekon of Abak/Etim Ekpo(PDP) who has been talking tough and raised concerns about it. One maybe tempted to ask, what does Emmanuel Ukoette know about the insecurity challenges rocking his Area?
Even as I wish that Obong Nsima Ekere faces his duties so that he can at least deliver on the Hospital Road he promised Abak people close to a year now, and stop being deceived in the name of endorsement by a group of failed politicians who keep having tall dreams of taking over the Hilltop Mansion come 2019.
