As 2019 general elections approaches, the chapter chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Eket LGA, Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong has reassured to work tirelessly to ensure victory for the re-election bid of His Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Obongiwaad Mbong; informed that the 2019 re-lection victory of Udom Emmanuel in Eket will further attract numerous people oriented and lives touching projects to the area.
Mbong gave the remarks at the party's conference room where he received a frontline aspirant for the seat of Eket State constituency, Dr. Nsidibeabasi Akata on a consultation visit to chapter officers at the party seceretairait, Oron road, Eket.
The chapter chairman urged all to become partners of the sucess story of the Governor's second term maintaining that Udom Emmanuel has given Eket people hope for a better future hence his decision to canvass and preach the gospel of Udom Emmanuel continuity.
In a unanimous reaction, the chapter legal adviser, Prof. Edidiong Ebitu; women Leader, Hon. Emem Francis; ward chairmen for Okon development ward 1 endorsed Dr. Akata as their sole candidate.
They all declared their total support for the success of Udom Emmanuel continuity project and Dr. Nsidibeabasi Akata as the next house of assembly member for Eket State constituency.
Hon. Emem Francis in her submission said the aspiration of Dr. Akata to represent the good people of Eket LGA in the seventh assembly has reawaken the women dwindling spirit in the grassroots to become more interested to participate in political activities.
The indomitable chapter women leader announcing her readiness to support Akata hinted that Eket women are very excited with Dr. Akata's aspiration.
While reiterating her support and loyalty to the PDP, she expressed satisfaction with the Udom Emmanuel led-administration adding that Her Excellency Martha Udom Emmanuel has truly empowered and blessed the women through her pet project initiatives, Feyrep.
The chapter legal adviser of the party, Prof. Edidiong Ebitu; said his decision to support and endorse Dr. Akata is a proof of confidence and trust he has for the style of leadership attributes exhibited by the aspirant over the years.
Prof. appealed to the people of Eket to give in their support in favour of Akata's aspiration. He maintained that the later is most qualified and ready for the job citing professional experiences as added advantage to the people of Eket if considered worthy for the mandate.
Corroborating the position of the chapter officers, the ward chairman of Okon development ward 1, Mr. Samuel James who spoke onbehalf of other ward chairmen in the team posited that there will be no better choice to represent Eket State constituency outside Dr. Akata.
Mr. Samuel reassured of his unflinching support for the party promising to canvass for wider support for the success of Governor Udom Emmanuel re-election and Dr. Akata as next house member to represent Eket State constituency.
