The over eight hundred spy police who were sacked by Mobile Producing Nigeria Unlimited, yesterday disrupted the activities of the company over non compliance with the Supreme Court judgment.
During the peaceful protests, the angry staff blocked Mobil Housing Estate at Marina road, Eket Local Government of the state.
The protesters were chanting solidarity song and carried play cards with inscription such as "ExxonMobil sacked 860 Nigerian workers after over 22 years of slave labour", "ExxonMobil respect the rule of law", "Supreme Court of Nigeria is higher than ExxonMobil."
Other inscriptions include, "ExxonMobil comply with Supreme Court Judgement", "Calculated disobedience of supreme court judgement on its employees is an insult to the Federal Republic of Nigeria", "ExxonMobil masters of slave labour, " among others.
Mr Okon Johnson, the Chairman, Security Workforce ExxonMobil expressed displeasure over the attitude of the company, said that ExxonMobil had melted injustice to those that have entrusted their life and property to the company.
Johnson however, said that ExxonMobil should complied with the Supreme Court Judgement that held on April 20, 2018, telling the company to reabsorbed 860 spy policemen and rewards long serving personnels.
Johnson called on ExxonMobil to reabsorbed 860 staff of the company and implements their entitlements before they would end the peace protest in the state.
He however, expressed disappointment that ExxonMobil does not want to comply with supreme Court Judgement.
